Everyone will tell you about the trip they have been thinking about for years. The one that they had done so much research for, and asked peers and friends about. And while they talk about how rewarding it was to put in all the work and the due diligence – saving up a lot of money and meticulously thinking about any gear they needed to take… Them romanticizing about the whole process is probably making your throat close.

I am here to tell you that travel and adventuring in the outdoors – doesn’t have to be that way.

And treating travel like it needs to be an intensive journey is limiting to you, your friends and family.

Imagine this, you are relaxing after a day of paddleboarding on a local reservoir, enjoying a beverage of your choice. And you admit to your friend – I have never been to the Pacific Northwest. You would like to go sometime but have less than no idea what you would want to make of the trip.

Now get this, your friend, knowing you well enough to know you like paddling, brief camping excursions and that sweet homey comfort of a shower and hot tub after an adventure on the water – says she will look into it.

You gave her what felt like literally nothing to go off of. And you haven’t even given it more thought than, “I would like to go sometime.” But less than a week later you start getting emails about possible paddle camping adventures off the coast of Washington, around the San Juan Islands. And not just any paddle camping excursions, the perfect balance of roughing-it paddle camping adventure and chilling at a local inn, with recommendations to laid-back restaurants in walking distance.

Lucy is capable of taking something as abstract as – “paddling and Pacific Northwest” and building a personalized itinerary, with the right amount of adventure AND the right amount of R&R to meet anyone’s needs. Not only that but she can work to tailor your experience based on your budgeting needs.

Before the trip, I had detailed lists of gear I would need for the more adventurous parts, so I wasn’t guessing before I hopped on the flight.

When I arrived, it was like a well oiled machine. I knew where to be, and when. Despite being a multi-stage transit – whether it was the ferry ride or the Beever pontoon plane that flew us back to the Seattle airport, each part of the journey was an experience I wouldn’t have wanted to miss out on. The Inn at Friday Harbor was homey, held our bags while we camped, and welcomed us back to the same room we left – so we could shower and enjoy a much awaited hot tub. The crew who took us padding and camping up the Puget Sound were experienced and knowledgeable about the area, giving us multiple opportunities to explore, ask questions and immerse ourselves in the unique environment that was the Pacific Northwest. They even made dinner for us at camp. If that isn’t service, I don’t know what is.
